Thousands Left Without Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on the previous day, over 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the state.
