Recent Processing Facility Assault Reveals 'Zero Safe Areas in Russia's Deep Rear'

Ukraine's UAVs have targeted Russia's Bashneft processing plant in Ufa, located some 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine, causing detonations and a fire, per a source in Ukraine's intelligence agency.

This constitutes the 3rd Ukrainian security service far-reaching assault in Bashkortostan in the past month. Those operations show that there are no secure zones in the far hinterland of the Russian state.

Power Repair Work in Kyiv

Operations proceeded on the weekend to restore power in Kyiv, after Russian attacks.

Power had been returned to more than 800,000 citizens by Saturday and the major utility provider announced the primary operations to repair the grid was complete though certain disruptions remained.

Anti-Aircraft Actions and UAV Jamming

Ukraine's defense forces downed or disrupted 54 of 78 Russian drones sent towards Ukraine during the night, the military said on Saturday.

Russia's defense officials said it eliminated forty-two Ukrainian drones over its own soil.

Cuban Government Denies Accusations of Deploying Troops to the War

Cuba on the weekend denied American assertions it has provided military personnel to fight in the conflict in Ukraine, while stating Cuban authorities "lack precise data about individuals" engaged "voluntarily" or "in the military forces of both sides".

The government department in Havana announced 26 Cubans had been convicted to prison terms ranging from 5 to 14 years for mercenary involvement since the autumn of 2023 when information circulated of Cubans being dispatched to the frontlines in Ukraine.
