Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
