Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
